Amelia is into everything these days – exploring, climbing and going going going!
It started at Mimi’s house last weekend – she climbed onto this little wagon over and over.
When we got home from a week of traveling, she found a hiding place under her changing table.
Yesterday, Amelia climbed up into a her rocking chair and stood up. She was pretty proud of herself. Today she learned how to get down.
When we came home from church today, she climbed into this basket and sat on top of the toys. She was playing peek-a-boo with me!
Then she found the railing by the stairs. She was half-way through it before I caught her and pulled her little body back onto level ground. She must have thought it was pretty fun because she kept going back.
I walked into Amelia’s room this morning to find her sitting up in her crib! She’s only done that one other time and it shocked me both times. Then she started pulling up on the side of the crib! The girl wants to be on her feet!
Today Amelia figured out how to drink from a sippy cup by herself. She’s been so frustrated the last few weeks not being able to hold the cup correctly to get the water out. Whenever she sees us eating or drinking she will spit out her paci, in hope of getting some of what we have!
Sam went home with GranGran and PaPa the Saturday before Easter and Amelia and I went up later in the week for a visit.
It was a week filled with lots of Easter fun – dying eggs, egg hunts, and baking egg- and bunny-shaped cookies.
We had a picnic one afternoon on the deck, but had to move inside to finish because it was too cold and windy.

On our last day, we went to a serging class with GranGran. There just happened to be park across the street, so we fed the birds, played in the park and occasionally checked in on GranGran’s class.
I took the kids to Oklahoma a few weeks ago, while Robert was out of town. It was my first road trip alone with both kids and we did great! Sam fell asleep before lunch on the way there. He was having a sucker for a snack (a special treat) and just couldn’t stay awake to eat it. I tried taking it out of his hand two times and he woke up and caught me both times. He was NOT going to let go of that sucker, even if he was sleeping!

while Aunt Melissa, Grandpa, Sam and I threw snowballs and built a snowman. Every time Sam would throw a snowball he’d say, “I broke’d it!!!” and laugh!
We died Easter eggs and it was messy! Sam loved it, but a dozen eggs was not nearly enough. He wanted to do more…

Then we got to spend some time with Mommy’s best friend from high school, Katie, and her son, Kason. You did not want to leave her house that night. Cool slide in the backyard and yummy spaghetti, bread and brownies for dinner!
Little traveler! And now you’re in Batesville with GranGran and PaPa having more Easter fun!
As we were driving home from church tonight, Sam pointed out his window to the Metropolitan bank building and asked, “Who build that?” We told him we didn’t know, but that lots of people worked on it. Then he said, “Noah” very plainly and repeated it three times. So, we were trying to clarify and asked him if Noah built that building; he very confidently said, “Uh huh!”
I took the kids to Tulsa for a week and came back with a different child. Amelia has changed so much in the last week and I’m having a hard time keeping up!
Last Saturday was a long night with very little sleep, but Amelia woke up with her 1st tooth. That afternoon she waved good-bye to her Uncle Logan.
Amelia is getting SO close to crawling. She gets up on her knees and rocks – sometimes she goes backwards and sometimes she just scoots around on her bottom. She’s also started pulling up on her toys and furniture. I thought that came after crawling and before walking, but she’s doing it now!
The baby food stage didn’t seem to last very long – well, I guess it’s been 4 months since we started her on rice cereal! Yikes – where does the time go? She’s eating all kinds of things now: carrots, blueberries, avocados, yogurt, peas, applesauce, cheese, green beans, eggs, bread, bananas. And she has quite an appetite – just like Sam!
Possibly the best news of all – Amelia’s blocked tear duct has cleared up in the last two weeks. Hip Hip Hooray!!! The pediatrician told us to wait until 9 months to see if it would clear up on its own. He wasn’t very optimistic, but I’m sure glad we waited. I was dreading the thought of surgery on our baby – just thinking about it makes me queasy.
